ENTRY CLOSED until 2023
Music City Superstar
ELIGIBILITY - The competition is open worldwide to soloists only, age 5 and up, with contestants divided into a kid division (5-12), teen division (13-17) and adult division (18 and up). Each contestant may enter the contest only once, and there must be a minimum of 10 contestants registered in each division in order for that division to be judged. If this minimum number of entries is not received, Music City Superstar (MCS) may decide to disregard the contest divisions and judge all contestants in one large group regardless of age. MCS also reserves the right to extend the contest entry period in order to recruit more entries.
FREE ONLINE ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
1. Song Guidelines - The contest is open to soloists only. You will be scored on the first two minutes of your performance. This 2 minutes does not include introductory statements. You may either sing the entire song, the first two minutes of your song or an edited version of the song. You may perform a cappella, with a track, with a karaoke video or with live instrument accompaniment provided by the contestant or other musicians. Your video must be a vocal that is recorded LIVE. In other words, you may not submit a vocal that was captured in a recording studio for the purpose of an album or a music video, etc. Additionally, others are not allowed to sing with you. All songs must be family friendly and approved by Music City Showcases. Tips for Success: When performing with a track, it's best if an edited track still maintains a good sound quality and song flow without an abrupt ending, and features at least one verse and chorus. Introduce yourself and what song you are performing, and make sure your video is not shaky with good sound quality and lighting. Please make sure your voice can be heard above the accompaniment!
2. Facebook Settings and Requirements - Be sure to make the settings on your video public or it will not be visible on the group page! Facebook may mute your video due to copyright guidelines. If this occurs, you may submit a new video even if the contest entry deadline has passed. If you do not have Facebook, ask a friend or family member to upload your video using their profile. (Music City Showcases will not upload your video for you.) Videos must be time stamped by the specified deadline in order for your entry to be official. Also, your entry is not official until you complete an entry form! Once you have entered, you cannot delete your entry and submit a new video. DO NOT WAIT UNTIL THE LAST MINUTE TO UPLOAD YOUR VIDEO TO FB!!! YOUR ENTRY WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED IF IT IS NOT RECEIVED BY THE ENTRY DEADLINE. NO EXCEPTIONS!!!
